Abstract:

The Family Health Strategy – which started as the Family Health Program in 1994 – has been considered and implemented, in Brazil, as the primary logic to reorganize Primary Health Care. The conversion of the dominant Primary Health Care into Family Health Strategy has brought on several changes in the health activities, the impact on different areas – for example, (bio)ethics – still requiring assessment. In this context, the current investigation was conducted, characterized as an exploratory study, aimed at tracking the main (bio)ethics problems identified by the city of Rio de Janeiro Primary Health Care workers. For such purpose, a questionnaire was applied to the Family Clinic (CF) professionals to collect data, followed by an analysis of the data content as proposed by Bardin.
Working at the APS within the CF context entails peculiarities as far as the (bio)ethics relations established at this health care level are concerned.
Thus, it is extremely necessary that new theoretical points of reference be proposed, together with the implementation of educational actions usually used for addressing such issues.
