Abstract:

This paper analyzes the determinants of satisfaction in the care of Basic Health Units (BHU). The data were extractedthe external evaluation microdata of the National Program for Improvement of Access and Quality of Primary Care (PIAQ),the year 2013. The results showed that individuals in better financial condition tend to be less satisfied with the care at the UBS. In Addition, evaluating variables such as waiting time for consultation, respect for the patient and the guarantee of privacy, it is possible to indicate that the improvement in the perception of care in the UBS can be achieved with better administration of resources, i.e., Without increasing financial expenses. Finally, it can be affirmed that individuals value more care than the infrastructure of UBS at the time of evaluating care.
