Abstract:

The habit of smoking or smoking, concern of Primary Health Care (PHC) is a serious public health problem and the leading cause of preventable death in the world. The relevance of actions whose focus is to facilitate the cessation of this habit, motivates the discussion of studies that have different approaches to this confrontation to contribute to the training of PHC professionals. We used the databases LILACS, MEDLINE and Web of Science considering recent scientific publications (2010-2015). The descriptors were combined with Boolean operators and, after analysis of the articles found, 75 are discussed in this review because they have a higher prevalence of strategies PHC. It is concluded that the individual approach brief and intensethe 5A‘s method (Model Transtheoretical) is the most widely adopted, as well as adhesives drug nicotine and bupropion. The growing use of hard technology requires new studies that they examine their impact on the treatment of smokers. It was evident the need for health professionals to be better prepared to address the issue with the users, in addition to lack of stimulation and proper conditions to work in the APS team directly reflecting scientific advances in clinical practice.
