Abstract:

Cross-sectional study that aimed to analyze the psychological demand and job control self-reported by the Administrative Technical Education of a public university. Full selection of sample of 833 Administrative Technical Education that self filled a questionnaire structured in 2013/2014. Carried out a descriptive and bivariate analysis with calculation of psychosocial stress at work, using the quadrants of the Demand-Control Model categorized as low-strain jobs (low demand and high control) reference group, passive work (low demand and low control ), active work (high demand and high control), high strain (high demand and low control) highest exposure group. Met all legal and ethical requirements for research involving humans. There was a predominance of the category of workers performing passive job (n = 319; 39.7%), followed by low strain (n = 274; 34.1%). The high-strain work included n = 116; 14.4%, and the active work, n = 95; 11.8%. There has been research contributions to the health of workers as they provided a diagnostic category. There‘s recommendation that such data subsidize interventions to empower them and upgrading of jobs.
