Abstract:

This study aimed to identify the factors associated with quality of life (QoL) in patients treated at four health centers of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. Sectional study with 930 adult patients registered in the health centers ed. A questionnaire with socio-demographic and health characteristic was used, as well as the WHOQOL-bref to evaluate QoL. After descriptive analyses, simple and multiple linear regression were conducted in order to measure the association between QoL domains and independent variables. The mean scores of QoL were higher in social relationship domain. In environment domain, the scores were the lowest and differed between some of the health centers included in the study. In general, worse QoL perceptions were related to poorer health, housing, education and income, as well as social and psychological issues. Actions to improve the QoL of patients should be developed in primary health care, once it is the gateway to the Unified Health System.
