Abstract:

The objective of this study was to analyze the factors related to the mental health of Community Health Agents (CHA) in the context of COVID-19. 1935 CHAsfour Northeastern capitals and four cities in the interior of Ceará participated. Data were collected regarding sociodemographic; professional; SRQ-20; WHOQOL-Bref, exposure to violence, General Self-Efficacy Scale (EAEG), Multidimensional Perceived Social Support Scale (MSPSS), COVID-19 related information, and coronavirus anxiety scale (EAC). 40.5% had SRQ>7, signaling high levels of Common Mental Disorders (CMD)/mental health issues. Multiple linear regression (backward) was used. It was observed that the increased risk of TCM was influenced by exposure to violence (95%CI1.0, 2.2), EAC (95%CI1.4, 1.8), not knowing if you had COVID-19 (95%CI %0.08, 1.3) and the variables that reduced the risk, the physical (95%CI-2.7, -2.0) and psychological (95%CI-2.6, -1.8) domains of WHOQOL -Bref, not having increased working hours (95%CI-0.85, -0.12) and not having had COVID-19 (95%CI-0.82, -0.08). The data reveal the multidimensional dynamics of mental health and help to understand the relationship between community violence, COVID-19, quality of life, age, and time working in the ESF with the mental health of CHAs.
