Abstract:

The aim of the study was show the cross-cultural adaptation and validation of the Taste Attitude Scale of the “Health and Taste Attitude Scale” to Portuguese. The methodology included the translation of the scale; evaluation of conceptual equivalence, operational and item by 14 experts and 51 undergraduates; semantic equivalence assessment and measurement by 12 women bilingual by the paired t test, the Pearson correlation coefficient and the coefficient intraclass correlation; internal consistency and test-retest reliability respectively by Cronbach‘s alpha and intraclass correlation coefficient after application at 216 undergraduates; assessment of discriminant validity and concurrent through T test and Spearman correlation coefficient, respectively, in addition to Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Exploratory Factor Analysis. The scale was considered adequate and easily understood by experts and university and showed good internal consistency and reliability (&#61621; 0.86, ICC 0.84). The results show that the scale is valid and can be used in studies with women to better understand the attitudes with taste.
