EpidemiologiaAbstract:
Objective: To describe the Tuberculosis indicators tendencies in relation to their prevalence, incidence and the percents of case ending (cure, treatment abandonment or death) for the patients who entered in the Program in Sapucaia do Sul, RS, between 2000 and 2008.Methods: A rates ecological analysis was developed. We showed the brute rates of the frequencies and the confidence intervals of 95%. The rate estimations were verified through average annual percent change. Numerators and denominators combinations were realized every three years.
Results: The prevalence rate was 64.3 and the incidence rate was 58.0 per 100000 inhabitants. The indicator analysis didn’t show significant statistic differences between the annual rates or in the combinations during the period.
Discuss: The endings were above the goals proposed by the World Health Organization, what engages the disease control, once the transmission chain cannot be interrupted.
