0387/2020 - FRANTZ FANON, DESCOLONIZAÇÃO E O SABER EM SAÚDE MENTAL: CONTRIBUIÇÕES PARA A SAÚDE COLETIVA BRASILEIRA FRANTZ FANON, DECOLONIZATION AND KNOWLEDGE IN MENTAL HEALTH: CONTRIBUTION FOR BRAZILIAN COLLECTIVE HEALTH
O ensaio enfatiza a reflexão psicossocial do psiquiatra martinicano Frantz Fanon.

Abstract:
The essay emphasizes the psychosocial reflection of the martinican psychiatrist Frantz Fanon. Fanon’s thought has a critical expression in colonial domination and racism consideration, as in “Black Skin, White Masks” and “The Damned of the Earth”. A literary transcendence signalizes his passionate liberating speech, relevantly present in postcolonial and decolonial theorizations. Fanon is crescently recognized by the political discussion of diasporic contemporary world, although his medico-social ideas and practices, as precursors in mental health assistance, are less known. Referred to by Paulo Freire and Boaventura de Sousa Santos, Fanon gives a fundamental relevance to culture in his sociogenesis and when he criticizes the eurocentric psychoanalysis inadequacy to treat colonial oppression and racism. Cited by Franco Basaglia, Fanon wasn’t a reference to brazilian Psychiatric Reform, but his thought, decolonial and antiracist, is, in perspective, important contribution to Collective Health.
