0377/2024 - APROXIMAÇÕES ENTRE PROMOÇÃO DA SAÚDE, EDUCAÇÃO POPULAR EM SAÚDE, EDUCOMUNICAÇÃO E LITERACIA EM SAÚDE: COSTURANDO LINHAS DO TEMPO APPROACHES BETWEEN HEALTH PROMOTION, POPULAR HEALTH EDUCATION, EDUCOMMUNICATION AND HEALTH LITERACY: SEWING TIMELINES
No Brasil, os estudos e as práticas em torno do conceito de literacia em saúde são recentes e vinculados à aplicação de instrumentos validados internacionalmente para a mensuração de habilidades e competências em diferentes grupos da população. Observa-se nestas perspectivas uma ênfase mais conservadora na adoção de práticas alfabetizadoras em saúde. O presente artigo explora possibilidades de um modelo brasileiro de Literacia em Saúde levando em conta o acúmulo da comunidade brasileira em Saúde Coletiva em Promoção da Saúde, Educação Popular e Educomunicação ao traçar e articular linhas do tempo destas quatro áreas de conhecimentos e práticas. A partir da tessitura dessas articulações, busca assinalar os principais marcos históricos, acadêmicos e políticos, nacionais e internacionais, de cada uma dessas áreas, dentro de um período determinado (1970-2023), tendo como pano de fundo quatro conjunturas políticas: “governos militares”, “redemocratização e neoliberalismo”, “governos progressistas” e “conservadorismo”. A partir da identificação destes importantes marcos nacionais e internacionais e as confluências entre os campos da Promoção de Saúde, da Educação Popular em Saúde e da Educomunicação, apontamos a possibilidade de um modelo brasileiro para a promoção da literacia em saúde que rompa com a perspectiva normativa e diretiva da Health Literacy.

Abstract:
In Brazil, studies and practices around the concept of health literacy are recent and linked to the application of internationally validated instruments for measuring skills and competencies in different population groups. In these perspectives, a more conservative emphasis on the adoption of health literacy practices can be observed. This article explores possibilities for a Brazilian model of Health Literacy, taking into account the accumulation of the Brazilian community in Public Health in Health Promotion, Popular Education and Educommunication by tracing and articulating timelines of these four areas of knowledge and practices. Based on the weaving of these articulations, it seeks to highlight the main historical, academic and political milestones, national and international, of each of these areas, within a given period (1970-2023), against the backdrop of four political conjunctures: “military governments”, “redemocratization and neoliberalism”, “progressive governments” and “conservatism”. Based on the identification of these important national and international milestones and the confluences between the fields of Health Promotion, Popular Education in Health and Educommunication, we point out the possibility of a Brazilian model for the promotion of health literacy that breaks with the normative and directive perspective of Health Literacy.
