Os livros aqui comentados são: On death and dying1 (Sobre A morte e o morrer,1969); Questions and answers on death and dying2 (Perguntas e respostas sobre a morte e o morrer, 1971); Living with death and dying3 (Vivendo com a morte e os moribundos, 1981); On children and death4 (Sobre as crianças e a morte, 1983); On life after death5 (Sobre a vida depois da morte,1991) e Life lessons6 (Lições de vida, 2000).

Abstract:
This article is a reappraisal of some of the books written by Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, one of the most renown authors in the field of psychiatry today, on near-death topics such as addressing end-of-life, mourning and dying. Her work has contributed to the better understanding of these issues by health professionals, families, religious and lay people who handle and/or experience mourning. Although sometimes questioned for her inability to acknowledge the contribution of those who came before her, her work singles out the importance of bringing theory to practice, of making the discussion regarding near-death experiences tangible to those in and outside the medical field. The books analyzed in this article are: On death and dying1 (1969); Questions and answers on death and dying2 (1971); Living with death and dying3 (1981); On children and death4 (1983); On life after death5 (1991) and Life lessons6 (2000).
