0347/2018 - O processo de incorporação de tecnologias em saúde no brasil em uma perspectiva internacional. The health technology assessement in brazil in an international perspective.
Given the financial impact of the incorporation of new technologies in health care, it is a challenge for managers to choose what technology should be incorporated and when this should occur. It is therefore necessary to have a technology assessment and incorporation process based on transparent and objective criteria. The objective of this study was to analyze the Brazilian process of the Comissão Nacional de Incorporação de Tecnologias em Saúdethe Brazilian Ministry of Health (Conitec) and to compare it with the processes run by international agencies considered as world references: Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom. The following categories were used for the comparison: structure, indication and ion of subjects, evidence review, use of Health Technology Assessement (HTA) in decision making, HTA products, dissemination and transparency. Conitec\'s legally envisaged process showed more similarities than distinctions compared to those of the studied agencies. The main differences were: composition of committees, appeal process, program evaluation and implementations. Despite the advances, the HTA in Brazil must be continuously improved.
