Abstract:

The home-based care services, arise in Brazil at the psychiatric reform, as a improvement of the policy for de-institutionalization, as well as essential services to overcome custody practices, characteristic from the asylum. These services allow spaces of care, acceptance and decent housing for people who lost their family and social links and have been interned for years in psychiatric hospitals. The article aims to evaluate the sociability network of users from home-based care services Alegrete/RS, by a case report. This study is part of the research networks to rehabilitate - evaluating innovative experiments in composition of psychosocial care networks. We used data from semi-structured interviews with six workers. It was observed that the service provides unique and innovative experience to find solutions that approximate people, with extensive periods of psychiatric hospitalization, their family, community and the city, breaking the segregation that were submitted. The learning of residents and workers in the construction of the home-based care services show the potential to reintegrate the user into society.
