0310/2024 - ME DOI NÃO PODER TER AFAGADO MEU FILHO”: NARRATIVAS DAS DESIGUALDADES RACIAIS NO CONTEXTO DA PANDEMIA DA COVID-19 “IT HURT ME NOT TO BE ABLE TO HAVE CUDDLED MY SON”: NARRATIVES OF RACIAL INEQUALITIES IN THE CONTEXT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar as desigualdades raciais presentes nas narrativas de pessoas cujos familiares morreram por Covid-19 no Brasil. Possui abordagem qualitativa e está inserido na perspectiva do construcionismo social. Narrativas sobre adoecimento e morte foram produzidas por meio de entrevistas em profundidade com 35 sujeitos. Os dados foram coletados em 25 municípios de sete estados brasileiros, interpretados através da Análise de Conteúdo e discutidos com base no aporte teórico proposto por Judith Butler. As narrativas apontam que pessoas negras que foram a óbito pela Covid-19 enfrentaram dificuldades no acesso aos serviços de saúde, foram cuidadas no SUS, não dispuseram de tratamento domiciliar, sofreram restrição de informações sobre o estado de saúde e a família vivenciou problemas financeiros após o óbito. Entre aquelas de cor da pele branca, houve negligência e práticas negacionistas, assistência prestada pela iniciativa privada, com tecnologias médicas avançadas e inexistência de impacto financeiro na família. Pessoas que morreram constituíram-se como “vidas precárias” no contexto da pandemia, e a população negra foi marcada por vulnerabilidades e desigualdades raciais, evidenciando a necessidade de abordagens antirracistas nas práticas de saúde.

Abstract:
The objective of this study was to analyze the racial inequalities present in the narratives of people whose family members diedCovid-19 in Brazil. It has a qualitative approach and is ed in the perspective of social constructionism. Narratives about illness and death were produced through in-depth interviews with 35 subjects. The data were collected in 25 municipalities in seven Brazilian states, interpreted through Content Analysis and discussed based on the theoretical support proposed by Judith Butler. The narratives indicate that black people who diedCovid-19 faced difficulties in accessing health services, were cared for in the SUS, did not have home treatment, suffered restricted information about their health status and the family experienced financial problems after the death. Among those with white skin color, there was negligence and denialist practices, assistance provided by the private sector, with advanced medical technologies and no financial impact on the family. People who died constituted “precarious lives” in the context of the pandemic, and the black population was marked by vulnerabilities and racial inequalities, highlighting the need for anti-racist approaches in health practices.
