Resumo:
O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o estoque domiciliar de medicamentos em comunidades atendidas pela Estratégia de Saúde da família (ESF) em município de médio porte localizado no Sul do Brasil. Foram amostrados 10% dos domicílios de cinco ESF. Os dados foram coletados por Agentes Comunitários de Saúde (ACS) através de questionário adaptado de Fernandes (2000). A idade média dos entrevistados foi de 42 anos e dos moradores foi de 16 anos, destes 51% eram mulheres. Foi observada renda de 1 a 3 salários mínimos (69,1%), e escolaridade de 0 a 4 anos de estudo (42%). Dos domicílios visitados, 98,7% apresentavam pelo menos um medicamento estocado. Dos 533 lugares de guarda averiguados, 43,5% era exposto ao calor, 39,6% a umidade, 16,5% a luz. Em 37,3% das residências havia crianças residindo no domicílio e o estoque estava ao alcance das mesmas. Dos 2.717 medicamentos encontrados, 6,9% estavam vencidos e 2,6% não apresentavam informação sobre a data de validade. Os fármacos analgésicos foram os mais prevalentes no estoque (21%). Nossos resultados nos levam a concluir que há necessidade de equipe multiprofissional para a promoção de saúde e racionalização dos estoques domiciliares de medicamentos, sendo que o ACS é um profissional indispensável para a promoção do uso racional de medicamentos.

It was observed a low income (1 to 3 minimum wages) and education levels (0 to 4 years of study). 98,7% of the household visited had at least one drug store,. In 533 storages places founded, 43,5% of this places was exposed to hot, 39,6% was exposed to humidity, 16,51% to light. In 37,3% of households the medicine were at children’s reach and there were children living at them. In the households, it was founded 2.717 medicines, 6,9% of them were expired, 35,3% of the medicines were note in the outer and 67,9% have not patient information leaflet. The analgesics were the most common medicines at in-house pharmacies (21%). This study shows the necessity of a multidisciplinary work to promote health and the rationalization of pharmacy home since the ACS is an essential professional to promote rational use os medicines".
