Relationship between body composition and dyslipidemia in children and adolescents.
We studied the relationship among different anthropometric indexes and lipids in plasma. Data were collected2014 to 2016 in 854 schoolchildren (6-18 years). The waist circumference (WC), percentage of body fat (%G) by bioimpedance, body mass index (BMI) and waist height ratio (RCE) were measured. Total cholesterol (CT), HDLc, and triglycerides were measured in a fasting blood sample and the Non-HDL cholesterol (Non-HDLc) was calculated. Data are presented by mean ± standard deviation or percentages. Means were compared by the t-test or ANOVA followed by the Tukey. The association between variables was tested by linear regression. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo. Obese boys presented CT, non-HDLc and LDLc higher than eutrophic (p
