Abstract:

The article lists recommendations for dealing with methodological aspects of an abortion survey and makes suggestions for testing and validating the survey´s questionnaire. These recommendations are based on the experience of the Brazilian National Abortion Survey (PNA), a random sample household survey that used the ballot-box technique and covered adult women in all urban areas of the country.
