Since January 1, 2021, Revista Ciência & Saúde Coletiva has been aligning with the so-called Open Science criteria, progressively adopting its principles and practices. What does that mean?
When submitting your article, you should be aware of what is a preprint and how you can proceed to integrate this first stage of Open Science. The preprint makes articles and other scientific communications available immediately or in parallel with their evaluation and validation by journals. As a result, it accelerates the communication of research results, guarantees intellectual authorship, and allows the author to receive comments that contribute to improving his work, before submitting it to a journal. Although the article can only remain in the preprints repository (if the author does not want to send it to a journal), journals continue to perform the fundamental functions of validation, preservation, and dissemination of research. Therefore:
As of January 20, 2021, a submission fee of R$ 100.00 (one hundred Brazilian Reals) is charged for national articles and US$ 25.00 (25 dollars) for international articles. The amount will not be refunded if the material is refused. This support from the authors is essential to finance the Journal's costs, enabling the publication with universal access by readers. No publication fee is charged.
