Abstract:

Permanent Health Education is a transformation strategy of health practices and the professional adherence is one of the challenges to its implementation. Thus, the objective of this study was to investigate, the perception of supervisors, the factors associated with adherence of family doctors to the Continuing Education Program (CEP) of a Brazilian Southeast state. This is a transverse and quantitative study which had a questionnaires online sending. Data were analyzed by chi-square test with continuity correction to determine the association between structure, topics, CEP activities, difficulties of the supervisors with the work in CEP, difficulties of the physicians in Primary Health Care (PHC) and poor and good adherence to the program. Great medical participation was statistically related with the adequacy of physical space (p = 0,001), approach of multidisciplinary (p = 0,035) and epidemiological aspects (p = 0,043). Low adherence was associated with inadequacy of physical structure, difficulty of understanding the methodology, shorter acting time of the supervisor, multiple working journeys, among others. A good adherence is a possibility to collectively rebuild the everyday work of physicians in PHC.
