Abstract:

Agenda 2030, a strategy of the United Nations Organization (UN) to promote a global and sustainable human development capable of satisfying basic social needs, is still in its initial stages in the majority of the countries of South America. Present investigation consulted a group of experts in health on the possibilities of Argentina to fulfill the 2030 Agenda, especially the goals of ODS3- Good Health and Wellbeing-, as soon as they were consulted on obstacles, challenges and policy recommendations to fulfill the goals. The change of management of the government in the beginning of 2019, and the emergence of the pandemic COVID19 in the present year, expanded the investigation incorporating the analysis of the current Minister of Health of the Nation on the Agenda 2030, the study carried out and the current perspectives in the pandemic period. The results were analyzed in a comparative perspective with a Brazilian studio, and showed that the majority of experts agree on the country\'s potential to meet the goals of the Agenda 2030. However, in the analysis of the new Minister of Health, \"the paradoxes of the pandemic\" arise that refer to the opportunity to strengthen the health system as a result of the COVID19 pandemic.
