Abstract:

The investigation analyzed the trend of mortalityHIV / AIDS according to sociodemographic characteristics in the Brazilian states between 2000 and 2018. Ecological study of time series of standardized rates of mortalitygeneral AIDS, by sex, age group, marital status and race / color. The generalized linear model of Prais-Winsten was used. The results of the study showed that the states with the highest rates were Rio Grande do Sul, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Santa Catarina. The trend was increasing in the North and Northeast regions. Men had higher rates when compared to women and the general population. As for the age groups, the most advanced showed a tendency for growth. The analysis according to marital status showed higher rates among the unmarried and a tendency to growth concentrated in this population. According to race / color, it was identified that blacks had higher rates, except in Paraná, and the trend was mostly increasing. Mortality due to HIV / AIDS presents different trends according to sociodemographic characteristics, with a need for preventive and caring actions for men, adults, the elderly, unmarried and black people in view of the change in the mortality profile.
