Abstract:

Objective: To evaluate aspects related to the services provided in the pharmacies of the Brazilian Unified Health System, according to users\' perceptions. Method: Datathe National Survey on Access, Use and Promotion of Rational Use of Medicines, carried out between 2013 and 2014 were analyzed. Individuals who obtained medication in public pharmacies were analyzed. For the prevalence estimates, the total number of medicine users with 95%CI was used as the denominator. Results: From the age group of 20 to 24 years old up to 60 to 64 years, there are significant differences between men and women in relation to the use of public pharmacies. More than 30% of peopleall socioeconomic classes who didn´t obtain medicines at SUS pharmacies never thought about this possibility. Not waiting to obtain the medicines and a positive evaluation of the opening hours had a stronger association to a positive evaluation of the SUS pharmacies. Conclusion: The opening hours and the waiting time are potential barriers at SUS pharmacies. The evaluation of the services by its users is positive, but points to regional differences. Identifying the magnitude of inequalities can contribute to the formulation of more effective and equitable policies.
