Abstract:

Multiple bodies and territories experience impacts, conflicts and socio-environmental injustices in different ways. The consequences of the neo-extractivist accumulation pattern fall differently on women, especially non-white women. This text brings narratives of plural women, who live in different territories and who experience different impacts of large enterprises. Through their narratives, we seek to understand how they constitute their territorial bodies, how they are impacted and how they resist colonialist domination, defend life and restore health. The impacts analyzed affect the means and ways of life of women, restrict their ways of being, power and knowledge in these territories, making them vulnerable, subject to the precariousness of means and ways of life, immersed in systemic intoxications, reaching situations classified as genocides. Faced with such threats, they manage collective resistance, activate what makes them active subjectivity, decolonize themselves as beings, knowledge and power. In this way they defend life and restore the health of themselves and their environments. These experiences point to ways to strengthen popular health surveillance perspectives and networks.
