Abstract:

The article presents a perspective on the Brazilian scientific production on the health of the black population (SPN) published in scientific journals. We performed a rapid scoping review, combined with thematic and bibliometric analysis. Studies published by Brazilian researchers in scientific journals were included, without limitation of date. Searches included four indexed databases. We found 519 studies in line with the thematic axes and strategic sub-themes of the Agenda of Research Priorities of the Ministry of Health and the guidelines of the National Policy for the Comprehensive Health of the Black Population. The data showed studies published1969 to 2022, most of them with a quantitative approach (85%). Among the ed studies, 65 were specifically about the black population and 54 about the quilombola population. The analysis of the co-authorship network showed the prevalence of isolated authorship groups. The analysis of the most recurrent terms in the titles of the ed studies showed that epidemiological aspects and health and disease conditions prevailed. It was observed that there are limitations in the indexing descriptors available today, which do not cover the most conceptually appropriate terminology. The article contributes to consolidating knowledge about the scientific production related to the SPN, also supporting the discussion on a propositional priority agenda for research to improve health policies for this population, overcome racism and denounce rights violations.
