Abstract:

Objective: to analyze the challenges for policies directed at adolescencethe National School Health Survey (PeNSE). Methods: Narrative review of the analyzes found in three editions of PeNSE. Findings of 51 articles were categorized into groups of results by risk factors and evaluated theoretically by health policy analysis. Results/Discussion: Smoking: stable in relation to cigarettes and increase of 18% in other tobacco products, such as narghile. Alcohol: regular consumption fell27.3% (2009) to 23.2% (2015). Drugs: increased experimentation, with protective effect of family supervision for tobacco, alcohol and drug use. Violence: increase of all indicators of violence, such as involvement in fights someone used a firearm and melee weapon. Feeding: predominance of unhealthy habits. Physical activity: 20% practice 1 hour or more daily. Sexuality: reduction of condom use in the first intercourse (from 75.9% to 66.2%). Health services: Half of the students have used in the past 12 months. Conclusion: PeNSE recognizes risk and protection factors, generating evidence for the implementation and monitoring of public policies, especially if plural and open to singularity. Although insufficient, ongoing initiatives are at risk according to the policies adopted by Temer government.
