Abstract:

The article brings an analysis of the actions of the Municipal Department of Health and Civil Defense of Rio de Janeiro to ensure the specialized care to the population of children and adolescents victims of sexual violence. This is a case study that used the method of analysis of content of eight interviews from managers of central level of this Department. It was found that despite the Department of Health be active in this kind of violence, its largest investment is directed to the clinical demands of this kind of injury. Regarding the attendance, it still faces several barriers related to articulation with other institutions, deficiency in the number of services and specialized health professionals, coverage and offer of professional capacitation.
