Objective:The study aims to analyze the content and the representational structure of the family in the vision of elderly people in Co-residency. Method: This is a qualitative study is descriptive and exploratory, with the theoretical contribution to the social representations theory, under the structural perspective, conducted with 169 elderly people registered in the catchment area of two units of the Family Health. We used the technique of Free Evocations for production data through the inductor family, and the analysis performed through EVOC software term. Result: Identified a likely structuredthe terms love, worry, longing and relatives while nucleus in which the peripheral elements show how lexical unity and conflict, delivering aspects of both positive and negative meanings. Conclusion: Conclude that the representational structure reveals a dimension of positive and negative aspects of the elderly with regard to family.

Abstract(resumo):
Objetivo: O estudo tem por objetivo analisar os conteúdos e a estrutura representacional sobre família na visão de idosos em corresidência. Métodos:Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo, sendo descritivo e exploratório, tendo como aporte teórico a Teoria das Representações Sociais, sob a perspectiva estrutural, realizada com 169 idosos cadastrados na área de abrangência de duas Unidades de Saúde da Família. Foi utilizada a Técnica de Evocações Livres para a produção dos dados por meio do termo indutor família, sendo a análise realizada por meio do software EVOC. Resultados: Identificou-se um provável núcleo estruturado a partir dos termos amor, preocupação, saudade e parentes, ao mesmo tempo em que os elementos periféricos apresentam léxicos como união e conflito, proporcionando aspectos de significados tanto positivos quanto negativos. Conclusão: Conclui-se que a estrutura representacional revela uma dimensão de aspectos positivos e negativos dos idosos no tocante à família.
