Abstract:

This is a systematic review carried out in January 2020 in the SciELO database in order to analyze the scientific production of the journal Ciência&SaúdeColetiva in the area of food and nutrition1996 to 2019. The search resulted in 904 articles and 509 were ed after reading the titles and abstracts. The articles were grouped into ten themes and the most frequent topics were: Assessment of Nutritional Status (n = 142), Food Consumption
(n = 111), Food and Nutrition Policies and Programs (n = 105) and Breastfeeding (n = 35). Most of the publications were original articles (75.6%) with a quantitative method (81.6%) and, among these, 18.8% used a probabilistic sample. In short, there was a wide range of topics and sub themes addressed, showing a relevant production that constitutes an important repository of data and knowledge for health professionals and managers. However, there are still important topics that must be studied: micronutrient deficiency; the popularization of the Dietary guidelines for the brazilian population;the promotion of breastfeeding; the diagnoses of the discontinuity of the NationalPolicy on Food and Nutrition Security and its intersectoral articulations with the social policies to combating hunger.
