Abstract:

The co-occurrence of risk factors can initiate chronic noncommunicable diseases and in extreme mortality. The objectives of this study were to describe the prevalence and to analyze the sociodemographic characteristics and of link with the University associated with the co-occurrence of risk factors in undergraduate. This study was compound of repeated surveys in the years 2010, 2012 and 2014, with undergraduates of Bahia, Brazil. The outcome of this study was the cooccurrence of two or more risk factors (lower levels of leisure-time physical activities, overweight/obesity, irregular consumption of fruits/vegetables and negative self-rated of stress). The Prevalence Ratios was used to measure association of variables with the co-ocurrence risk factors. Participated 878, 879 and 877 undergraduate in this study in the years 2010, 2012 and 2014, respectively. In all three surveys, the prevalence of two or more risk factors was greater than 70%. The co-occurrence of two or more risk factors was associated with women, students with higher age,the health area and with more time of university. Concluded that the prevalence of two or more risk factors was high and women was the group that presented higher prevalence of co-occurrence of risk factors in all surveys.
