Abstract:

The study analyzed the association of Cyberbullying with sociodemographic, family, mental health and behavioral factors in Brazilian schoolchildren This is a cross-sectional study with dataPeNSE 2019. Multivariate analysis was performed with Poisson regression. The prevalence of Cyberbullying was 13.2% and was higher among adolescents who felt he nobody cared about them (RP= 1.47; 1.36-1.59); who felt sad (RP= 1.5; 1.4-1.7); reported that life is not worth it (RP= 1.71; 1.59-1.84); has no friends (RP= 1.68; 1.50-1.87); were beaten by their parents (RP= 1.54; 1.45-1.65); missed classes without authorization (RP= 1.13; 1.06-1.20); used tobacco (RP= 1.19; 1.10-1.30); alcoholic beverages (RP= 1.16; 1.08-1.25); illicit drugs (RP= 1.14; 1.04-1.25); had sexual intercourse (RP= 1.23; 1.14-1.33). The following had a lower prevalence: boys (RP= 0.85; 0.80-0.91); 16-17 years old (RP=0.88; 0.82-0.95); and who reported having parental supervision in their free time (RP=0.78; 0.73-0.83). Cyberbullying has a high prevalence and the importance of monitoring the practice is highlighted, establishing prevention actions in schools.
