Abstract:

The objective of this study was to identify, through of a systematic review, the major dietary patterns of adolescents and its association with cardiovascular risk factors. Was performed search in the databases LILACS, SciELO, PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science, as well as manual search of original articles published between 2005-2014. Of the 371 records identified; 26 met the inclusion criteria and were REPLACEed in the review. The main dietary patterns observed were Western (61%) Healthy (42%) and Traditional (38%). The Western pattern was positively associated with total cholesterol and SM, while the Healthy was inversely associated with fasting glucose, DBP and SM and positively with HDL-C, all these associations with quality of evidence D, very low, according to the system GRADE. The Traditional patterns are related as a risk factor for hyperglycemia, hyperinsulinemia and hypertriglyceridemia and protection for physical activity and BMI eutrophic. For more than these results need to be analyzed with caution, due to the low quality of the evidence, it is observed the need to actions aimed at promoting healthy eating in adolescents, so that contribute to the prevention of cardiovascular risk factors.
