Abstract:

The aim is to discuss the nutrition education practices in the ongoing context. First, it will discuss the governmental actions related to nutritional education in the national public food and nutrition, second, in the local actions of the nutritional education in the health care, seeking to identify trends theoretical-methodological that guide educational interventions. We note that, in the last years, the food and nutrition education has been the subject of reflection in the public policies as governmental action. However, although their advances, it should consider that is a gap between the formulation of these policies and actions carried out in local level. There is also a distance between the discourses and practices in relation to nutritional educational practices. We conclude that the nutritional education is less an instrument than a set of integrated actions which should involve different public sectors and the scientific knowledge fields. However, it demands investment in training of health professionals and also in the production of knowledge about nutritional education.
