Abstract:

In Brazil, the cervical uterine cancer is one of the most important public health problems showing high lethality rate among women of different age groups. The cytopathologyc examination was recommended as a prevention of this type of cancer, and should be done by all women from the beginning of sexual life. The aim was to promote talks aimed at sexual health education and meet the profile of the sexual health of women from St. Angelo/RS. The talks discussed ways of prevention and identification of possible symptoms of the disease and encouraged measures. The lifting the profile of sexual health of the participants was conducted by the application of structured questionnaire. All participants signed the Statement of Free and Informed Consent. Participated in talks 140 women aged 15 to 60 years. It was found that even experiencing difficulties and fear, most women performed the examination preventive. The motivation for taking the exam, usually is linked to the emergence of symptoms, the habit of caring itself and/or concern about his health condition. It noted it is the importance of integration between health professionals and educators in programs of Public Health, watching the users within a vision toward completeness of assistance. We must, within education, seek health promotion and prevention of diseases, avoiding only curative or palliative measures in order to obtain better living conditions for the population.
