O livro \"História da Saúde Pública - Grandes Epidemias no Brasil dos Séculos XX e XXI\" é uma obra de 2022 que, por meio da história de diferentes enfermidades (raiva, influenza, meningite, COVID-19, esporotricose), demonstra o impacto da globalização e de determinantes sociais na disseminação de doenças, bem como discute medidas governamentais tomadas em cada momento e seu efeito sobre a incidência da condição analisada. A mensagem central da obra ressalta que, mesmo que não haja como impedir que epidemias aconteçam, é possível ter maior controle sobre sua evolução com base em exemplos do passado, sendo imprescindíveis ao bom manejo a vigilância epidemiológica, medidas de prevenção, confiança no conhecimento científico e melhorias em condições socioeconômicas, com diminuição da desigualdade.
