Abstract:

The objective of this study is to discuss equity and access to mental health through the analysis of the distribution of primary care teams (Community Health Agents; Family Health Teams; Expanded Family Health Core) and the coverage of the Psychosocial Care Network (RAPS) in its several components in three Northeastern states (Ceará, Piauí and Rio Grande do Norte) in their respective health regions. It is a descriptive study, supported by a quantitative exploratory analysis. For this purpose, we used the database of the Department of Basic Care/DATASUS to collect secondary data in relation to the historical series of qualification of Primary Care teams. Regarding RAPS\' points of attention, we use the database made available by the National Mental Health Coordination of the Ministry of Health. The investigation concluded that until 2018 there was an important movement in the country of internalization and expansion of coverage in relation to primary and psychosocial care, impacting on the expansion of equity in territories of lesser economic and social development. However, also observed that APS services are more internalized while others RAPS’s services are more developed in capitals and large municipalities.
