Abstract:

This article describes and analyzes the process of returning the results of the 2nd evaluation cycle of good practices in childbirth and maternity care linked to Rede Cegonha, a Ministry of Health strategy implemented in 2011, focused to contribute to improving management, obstetric and neonatal health care. It is a qualitative study based on documentary analysis of 27 reportsthe states and the Federal District referring to the feedback workshops with 1.641 participants, 40% of whom were professionals and managers of the maternities evaluated, 25% of state representatives, 20% of the municipal secretariats of health and 15% of federal representatives. Between January and August 2019, 46% of maternity action plans in 11 states were received. The results demonstrate the challenge of incorporating the monitoring and evaluation processes in the daily lives of these maternities, due to structural issues in management, care and institutional culture. This situation interferes in the local systematic analysis of information as well as the implementations of national evaluation cycles with the return of the results in more agile and continuous way, since the access to secondary national data is non-existent in the case of good practices in childbirth care.
