Abstract:

The aim was to analyze the factors associated with polyconsumption of alcohol, tobacco and illicit drugs among Brazilian schoolchildren aged 13 to 17. Cross-sectional study, with datathe National School Health Survey (2019). The outcome variable was the report of consumption of the three substances in the last 30 days.The independent variables were grouped into four blocks: sociodemographic characteristics; family context; stressful situations; behavioral aspects. A hierarchical multiple logistic regression analysis was carried out, with the variables with p < 0.05 remaining in the final model.The prevalence of polyconsumption in school adolescents was 3.3%. In the final model, male gender, living in the Midwest, South and Southeast, missing school without permission, parents don\'t know what they do in their free time, parents being smokers, being physically assaulted by their parents, feeling that life isn\'t worth living, experimenting alcohol and illicit drugs before 13 years old, having friends who drink alcohol, smoke and use drugs in your presence remained associated with the outcome.The data show a high prevalence of polyconsumption of three substances among adolescents and its association with sociodemographic, family and behavioral factors and stressful events.
