Abstract:

A total of 404 children of the sample were studied, using the correspondence analysis, which consists of an exploratory analysis, aiming to identify variables associated with the outcome of violence against child. Violence against children was associated with males and the most frequent type of violence was neglect / neglect followed by physical and sexual violence. The most frequent perpetrators were father / mother, practicing violence against children aged 0 to 1 and 2 to 5 years, followed by known aggressors/friends who practiced violence against children aged 6 to 9 years. The most frequent place of occurrence was the domicile. In the school the victims were predominantly children6 to 9 years and in the street the boys. Neglect was more frequent between 0 to 1 year and 2 to 5 years, while physical violence occurred between 6 and 9 years. It is concluded that violence is practiced against vulnerable children, the most frequent authors being fathers and acquaintances.
