In this theoretical essay, we aim to discuss the paternity as a health issue facing the contemporary gender roles, considering‘ two argumentative axes: (a) Fatherhood, parenting and rearrangements of gender roles; (b) Fatherhood and parenting as an exchange ratio of care goods. In our discussion, we highlight the inclusion of men in the health system from the paternity which seems to be operating in an instrumental way having the mother-infant dyad still a major concern. In this situation men are not exactly seen as subjects of right to health. In these terms, we seek to question the own system in its perceptions of what comes to be fatherhood, taking into consideration the most recent discussions that have been being about gender and sexuality, and the new family arrangements that may challenge the beliefs of what comes to be a family, father and mother, impacting the care itself. Among other aspects, we conclude that we need to reinvent ourselves, since we were not created under the umbrella of diversity, neither we were formed as professionals from the problematic divisions between father / mother, sex / gender, among many other certainties that do not always help us promote actions in the health area. A paternidade e a parentalidade como questões de saúde frente aos rearranjos de gênero
Abstract(resumo):
Neste ensaio teórico, objetivamos problematizar a paternidade como uma questão de saúde frente aos papéis de gênero contemporâneos, levando em conta dois eixos argumentativos: (a) Paternidade, parentalidade e os rearranjos dos papéis de gênero; e (b) Paternidade e parentalidade como uma relação de troca de bens de cuidado. Em nossa discussão, destaca-se a inserção dos homens no sistema de saúde a partir da paternidade, que, ao que parece, vem se dando de forma instrumental, sendo a díade mãe-bebê ainda a grande preocupação, e não propriamente os homens como sujeitos de direito de saúde. Nesse sentido, buscamos questionar o próprio sistema em suas percepções sobre o que vem a ser paternidade, tendo em vista as discussões mais recentes acerca do gênero e da sexualidade, e os novos arranjos familiares que podem desafiar as crenças sobre família, pai e mãe, impactando o próprio cuidado. Dentre outros aspectos, concluímos que é preciso nos reinventarmos, uma vez que nem fomos criados sob a égide da diversidade, nem nos formamos como profissionais a partir da problematização das divisões entre pai/mãe, sexo/gênero, entre outras tantas certezas que nem sempre nos ajudam a promover ações em saúde.
