Abstract:

Cross-sectional study conducted with 492 participants in the rural area of Coari (AM) that aimed to identify food patterns of residents of riverine in the middle Solimões river region and their associated factors. We evaluated food intake using a brief Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) and used principal component analysis to identify dietary patterns. The association with socioeconomic variables was evaluated using generalized linear models. Four dietary patterns were identified: “vegetables” (vegetables, tubers, fruits); “Brazilian” (chicken, eggs, rice, beans); “traditional riverine” (fish, flour, milk); “meat and sweets” (game and pork, sweets).
