Abstract(resumo):
Nesta entrevista, Weibe Tapeba, Secretário de Saúde Indígena do Ministério da Saúde no Governo Lula, aborda o processo de reorganização da Secretaria de Saúde Indígena (SESAI) e do protagonismo indígena na nova gestão. Entre os pontos destacados pelo entrevistado estão a avaliação do cenário da saúde indígena no contexto político atual do Ministério da Saúde, os diálogos com as organizações do movimento indígena, assim como a articulação com instituições de pesquisa e ensino. A entrevista destaca a importância da elaboração de estratégias visando a reestruturação da SESAI e o aperfeiçoamento da política pública de saúde indígena envolvendo uma extensa articulação entre planejamento, gestão, financiamento e a participação social indígena com Controle Social. O Secretário enfatiza a necessidade da cooperação política no âmbito do governo federal para promover o desenvolvimento de uma política de “cuidado integral nos territórios indígenas”, defendendo que a concepção de atenção primária à saúde precisa ser ampliada para garantir que os princípios do SUS sejam efetivamente garantidos aos povos indígenas no Brasil.
