Abstract:

The board game Violetas: cinema&ação no enfrentamento da violência contra a mulher, created through the prioritization of the liberating characteristics of play, displays fights towards citizenship. Objectives: analyzing Violetas’sgameplay concerning the understanding of the rules, the involvement of players, game mechanics and design; comparatively evaluating the dimensions of playability, emotions and learning as expressions of play. Mixed method research, in stages: a) perfecting playability: workshop with 12 experts; usability tests (33 participants); content analysis; b) play evaluation: questionnaires for 78 participants, non-parametric Mann-Whitney U test for comparison of variable groups. Gameplay aspects had high degrees of agreement among participants. Gameplay variables had equal values to the learning group, both significantly differenta group 2, concerning emotions felt while playing. In Violetas, the interweaving of playability and the formative components of learning enable the creation of a symbolic, challenging and affective field the imagination, interaction, tension and interest of players manifest during play.
