Abstract:

The fast process of changes in the global economy in recent years and the labor’s organization configures the relations of gender in the teaching work. These transformations have favored the woman disadvantageous situation, assuming two or more labor’s journey. The aim of this study was to analyze the professors work conditions in the superior health education area in the city of Vitória, Espírito Santo State, and its implications on professional’s health and quality of life. This is a qualitative research. The dates were gathered through interviews and the Bardin analyzes of content was also employed. This technique has shown three categories: leisure, rest and health; feelings of social and familiar interaction loss; and perceived quality of life. The results shown that leisure absence may lead to sleep disturbs predisposing to psychic diseases; overload of work interfering over social and familiar interaction; and significant alterations in the work organization with influences over the health and quality of life. The work executed for the professors of the health area, contributes for the health lack process, with influence on its familiar, loving, social, ambient and professional life, with loss of the quality of life.
