Abstract:

This study analyzes the current state of health and well-being indicators belonging to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), identifying the most significant challenges presented by countries around the world and in the Americas region. The multivariate technique HJ-Biplot is used to represent the existing variations and covariations between 16 SDG 3 indicators, reported in 2022, based on data176 countries, including 31the Americas. The results obtained show that indicators such as life expectancy at birth, universal health coverage, and satisfied demand for family planning characterize developed countries. In contrast, developing countries still face significant challenges in promoting maternal health, child well-being, and controlling communicable and chronic diseases. Therefore, within the framework of the 2030 Agenda, it is necessary to continue working on public policy actions that allow progress in the implementation of programs to improve the health and well-being of the population, especially among nations with lower incomes.
