Abstract:

Objective: To analyze the effects of infodemic related to COVID-19perspective of health workers in Brazil in relation to the patients, measure the impacts of fake news for health professionals and verify the perception of health multiprofessional teams in relation to the positioning of the authorities.
Methods: Cross-sectional study linked to the research \"Health Professionals Working Conditions in the Context of COVID-19 in Brazil\". The non-probability sampling, nationwide, included 15,132 professionals who worked in the front line of confrontation with COVID-19 in health institutions of 2,200 municipalities throughout Brazil.
Results: For 91% of respondents, fake news are an obstacle in fighting the Sars-CoV-2 virus; 76.1% said they had seen patients who expressed faith in fake news about COVID-19; 29.3% agreed that the positionings of health authorities about COVID-19 were consistent and enlightening, and 62.6% disagreed about this.
Conclusions: For the interviewees, the infodemic about COVID-19 confused patients, impaired adherence to key health measures and stimulated negative behavior in the population regarding the pandemic. The lack of clarity of the authorities\' positions influenced the infodemic process about COVID-19.
