Abstract:

Studies show that people in vulnerable conditions have suffered more intensely the impacts of the pandemic of COVID-19, as well as some social groups such as women and black people. This expression of inequality also manifests itself among healthcare workers, with greater exposure of some specific groups. This article analyzes the impact of COVID-19 on health care workers and working conditions in Brazil\'s public health system, analyzedprofessional and gender and race perspectives. Data were collectedan online survey of 1,829 health workers conducted in March 2021. We found that, in fact, there are inequalities in the experiences of health workers during the health crisis generated by COVID-19. These inequalities are marked by the profession of each worker and are crossed by their gender and race characteristics.
