Abstract:

Objective: To evaluate the relationship between eating behavior change associated with dissatisfaction with body image, and the nutritional status of female university of nutrition. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 175 female nutrition students (ENUT / UFOP). Eating Attitudes Test-26 (EAT-26) and Body Shape questionnaires (BSQ) questionnaires were applied and carried out the anthropometric Results: 21.7% of students at high risk for eating disorders and 13.7% showed dissatisfaction with body image. Most of students with BSQ and EAT-26 positives were eutrophic. The students are overweight, increasing the body fat percentage (% BF) and waist circumference (WC) had a risk 5-9 times greater change in eating behavior. There was a positive association between the anthropometric and body composition with score of EAT-26 questionnaires and BSQ. Discussion: The future dietitians who are overweight, with increased body fat and waist circumference had a higher risk of being dissatisfied with their body image and eating disorders develop. The use of other anthropometric parameters, in addition to BMI, may be useful in screening individuals susceptible to the emergence of excessive concerns with weight and diet.
