Abstract:

This study aimed to evaluate the integrality process of Primary Health Care (PHC) in Montes Claros, Minas Gerais – Brazil, from the attributes of the PHC, from the point of view of the users of the Family Health Strategy (FHS) and from users of others services of FHS. Transverse, analytical and quantitative study. For data collection, was used a Primary Care Assessment Tool questionary, adult version, that was applied to 373 adult service users, and 124 (33.6%) reported attendance by FHS and 249 (66.4%) referred attendance by other services. Were assigned scores for the eight dimensions of the instrument, however, the present study worked with just three: first contact; accessibility, and longitude. The results showed that in relation to the entirety of PHC, better evaluation by the population that uses the FHS, comparing with those who use other services. The attributes: first contact, accessibility and longitude obtained higher scores in ESF mode in comparison with other services, with statistical significance for all attributes. We conclude that it is of fundamental importance to assess the attributes of PHC, aimed at improving the quality of services provided.
