Abstract:

Prenatal care for adolescents has been characterized by actions aiming techniques are currently qualify under the care of the whole perspective. The Program for Community Health Agents / Family Health Program (PACS / PSF) strategy is to advance the changes required, which motivated this research. Aimed at learning the process of prenatal care to pregnant adolescents by health professionals of the PACS / PSF and analyze it in terms of completeness. It is a qualitative study, with full and theoretical focus. Was developed in units of PACS / PSF in a municipality of Bahia, and subjects of study, practitioners who care for pregnant adolescents. The empirical material was produced through semi-structured interview and non-participant observation, in consultations and home visits and analyzed by the technique of analysis of speech. The analysis showed that the prenatal care for adolescents is made under the biomedical model and the compliance with institutional protocols and routines will override the individuality of the adolescent. Thus it distances of entirety, as far as the practices are guided by ideological entries to a model that denies the teens the opportunity to be pregnant subjects.
