Abstract:

The shortage of physicians, especially in remote areas, is a critical issue for the development of national health systems, thus resulting on a number of international cooperation projects. An exploratory and qualitative study was performed, which analyzed cases of cooperation between Brazil, Angola and Cuba. A non-systematic literature review was conducted by ed open access articles and official documents that addressed health cooperation experiences related to the topic. Previously ed characteristics were compared and pointing to theme actions against the shortage of doctors. It was concluded that the interactions between the three countries were fruitful and potentially beneficial to the health of the population of the countries. The South-South cooperation established presented positive results in the dimensions of education and regulatory policies, and actthe perspective of international non-dependence and strengthen endogenous capacity, important points to evaluate the structural component of health systems.
